We recognized that a great house is the result of simple earth put in the hands of skillful artisans who ultimately sculpt it into three-dimensional art. This art is not to be viewed and appreciated at a distance, but we humans, whose scale is used to properly mass and proportion the home, coexist and live within its spaces. Thus, we do not believe, as many do, that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", but rather that beauty is in the proportions and the understanding of proper scale, rhythm, unity, discord, and harmony.
